About the Author

My name is David Johnson.

I spent 20 years as a paramedic- 15 in the ER and 7 on the ambulance with the fire department. I am certified in all categories of emergency life support (ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support, BTLS – Basic Trauma Life Support, PTLS – Pediatric Trauma Life Support). Saving lives wasn’t a job, it was my passion. There’s nothing more rewarding than giving a family member back to their family, especially when they thought all hope was lost.

I worked many years perfecting my skills and my goal was to be the best out there. This is why I wrote my story- to show what an inner-city paramedic goes through. The names have been changed, but the stories are real!

Here we are now

I am now retired and reside in Garland, Texas. Fishing and traveling are two of my greatest hobbies. I am also a member of the APHA American Public Health Organization.
